10 Easy Tips To Help Fight Climate Change

Happy Earth Month!

The environmental crisis is something very serious. Most people know the natural world is facing great challenges, but few know the true extents of the changes and deprivation the environment faces and its extended effects on human welfare and all other life on Earth.

Global warming, pollution control, plastic in our oceans and natural resource depletion are among the biggest issues we face today. Recent studies have shown that if we don’t make a serious change, by 2050 we we will have more plastic in the ocean than fish (by weight) and 60 years left of farming left is soil degradation continues.

Now more than ever we have to individually make difference in our lives so that we can move together as a unite front. Instead of featuring this article yesterday during Earth Day, we wanted to share today to show that every day should be Earth Day.

Here are some individual tips that you can do to lower your carbon footprint:

  • When the weather is nice, opt to ride your bike or take public transportation instead of driving

  • Minimize the use of single use plastic by carrying your own reusable tote bag or mason jar

  • Minimize drying your clothes - instead air dry when when possible

  • Minimize the purchase of new products

  • Unplug your electronics when you leave the house

  • Don’t shower for longer than 5 minutes and don’t leave the water running when brushing your teeth

  • Buy locally sourced and/or plant based products when possible

  • Support local initiatives and organizations fighting climate change

  • Compost your food waste

  • Encourage your friends and family to take action

It’s mandatory that we all become a bit more mindful as a community!
