Located in LIC, PRESS Modern Massage is a clinical massage studio, not a spa. To maintain a relaxing environment for all, please use quiet voices when inside the studio. Please note that we do not provide lockers or shower facilities, your belongings will stay with you at all times. We look forward to impressing you!

Directions By Subway

To reach 5-14 51st Ave, Floor 2, Long Island City, NY 11101, via subway from Queens, you have a couple of convenient options:​

  1. 7 Train: Take the 7 train to the Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av station. Upon exiting, it's approximately a 7-minute walk to your destination.

  2. G Train: Alternatively, take the G train to the 21 St station. From there, it's about a 12-minute walk to 5-14 51st Ave.

Directions By Car

From Manhattan – Start by crossing the East River via the Queensboro Bridge (59th Street Bridge). After the bridge, merge onto Queens Plaza South and continue onto Jackson Avenue. From there, turn left onto 11th Street, then make a right onto 51st Avenue, where your destination will be on the right.

From Downtown Brooklyn – Start by taking the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278) north. Continue on I-278 and take Exit 33 for McGuinness Blvd toward Humboldt St. Merge onto McGuinness Blvd, then turn right onto Pulaski Bridge to cross into Queens. After crossing the bridge, continue onto 11th Street, then turn left onto 51st Avenue. Your destination will be on the right.

Meet The Press: Long Island City

Ellen

  • she/her

    “Keep moving!!”

    Ellen originally began her massage therapy career at The Mindful Body in San Francisco in 2007, and—after 5 years of practice in the state of California—she moved to NYC where she completed her Licensed Massage Therapy certification for the State of New York. Ellen is a graduate of the Swedish Institute and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She is dynamic and informed by the practice and teachings of Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, of Mysore, India.

    Ellen is also a formally trained Chef, a Certified Gerson Therapy caregiver, and a seasoned Birthing Doula. Ellen enjoys creating a balanced bodywork session by incorporating Ayurveda, 5 element theory of Chinese medicine, and classical Swedish/Deep Tissue techniques.

Kurt

    Kurt specializes in Swedish and deep tissue massage, incorporating myofascial release, trigger point techniques, and sports massage into his practice. He has trained in Shiatsu massage as well. Kurt has worked in both clinics and spas and enjoys partnering with clients to achieve their personal health goals, whether they are post-injury rehabilitation, personal maintenance, or simply relaxing the body and quieting the mind.

    Kurt is a graduate of the Swedish Institute, and  licensed by New York State and certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). He is also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

Jali`

    Jali is a graduate of the Swedish Institute. Jali’s passion is helping his clients improve their overall health through massage. His sessions are client-centered, and he is skilled in a variety of massage techniques including Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports massage, Myosfascial Massage, Trigger point Therapy, and Shiatsu. He uses the therapeutic and relaxation practices of Western and Eastern massage to help bring healing to his clients on a spiritual, emotional, and physical level.

    Jali has worked on athletes at various sporting events which include Westchester Triathalon and Toughman Half Ironman, offering post-event sport massage to the participants. Jali is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

    Anthony is a graduate of the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Tony began his journey with massage therapy to help others and to promote healing (self-healing specifically) through touch. He considers the relationship between therapist and client a real team effort in achieving the client’s health goals. Tony’s work a combination of deep tissue and trigger point therapy with a Swedish, relaxation-type flow. He is a passionate and knowledgeable Licensed Massage Therapist.

    Bismark is a graduate from Pacific College of Health and Science. His passion in working with the body comes from being a personal trainer for 6 years and his passion lies in bridging the gap between the worlds of fitness and bodywork. He believes that incorporating these practices into one's routine can help people improve their health and is essential to holistic wellbeing. His work is always tailored to the individual client, whether they need specific trigger point therapy or deep tissue massage. He also specializes in Tui Na and sports massage which can help people restore movement and improve performance. His ability to connect with his clients makes the treatment process seamless as the level of comfort between a therapist and client can make for a better outcome. 

Diego

    Diego is a graduate of The Finger Lakes School of Massage in Westchester, licensed by New York State. Certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) and a proud member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). As a highly perceptive therapist, Diego defines the effectiveness of his approach around Modern Neuromuscular Technique, also referred to as Myofascial Trigger Points. Gentle palpation and sustained pressure throughout his sessions lead the web of fascia in our bodies to become lengthened and resilient. His keen understanding in tensegrity and myofascial planes generate healthier outcomes particularly for those suffering from chronic conditions. It is with compassion at the heart of every session that Diego finds massage therapy as a medium to become a better person himself. As a final thought, Diego welcomes challenging cases and encourages those who suffer from chronic trauma to never give up on hope.

Patrina

    Patrina grew up in a culture that was heavily influenced by homeopathy. This deepened her interest in holistic and touch therapy. Patrina completed her AOS in Massage Therapy at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2018 and is certified in Advanced Massage Therapies with that school as well. She is a military veteran who became more body aware after suffering injuries during her service and is now committed to learning as well as teaching others about the influence of touch in healing. Her drive to constantly learn new things pushes her to find new and better ways to help her clients resolve their complaints of pain and stress.  Patrina hopes to further her studies in massage and body work to better serve her clients

    After a long culinary career nourishing his patrons wellness through food, Ryan sought out another longtime passion and enrolled in the massage program at The Swedish Institute, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2016. Since that time he has been refining his skills as a massage therapist, integrating an array of modalities to customize each and every session to best fit with his client’s needs and goals.

    Ryan believes that the stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system is vital to the healing process. He integrates that philosophy into every massage session by using smooth, rhythmic relaxation techniques while integrating deep tissue techniques to address areas of specific need.

    Sarah has been a licensed massage therapist since 2015. She combines her anatomical knowledge and technical skill to provide a touch that allows her clients to fully relax and heal. She works slowly and engages with each unique body to assess what it needs, working to alleviate any tension or pain. Her style combines a mixture of Swedish, deep tissue, & trigger point therapy to provide a relaxing & effective massage.
    Sarah is also a Certified Oncology Massage Therapist & is trained to work with clients with cancer at all steps of their journey, prioritizing both physical & mental comfort.

Yelena

    Yelena holds a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology, and her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine in Acupuncture. She is a New York State licensed Massage Therapist who graduated from Pacific College, specializing in deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and prenatal massage. Yelena has worked with pregnant women at the Lutheran Hospital, focusing on their fitness, wellness and preparing for labor with massage therapy and acupuncture.

    Yelena loves what she does and is passionate about each clients’ health and wellness. Her motto is “Healing the world, One body at a time.”  Yelena also enjoys dancing and performing on a semiprofessional level as a salsa dancer.

    Jahaira graduated as valedictorian of her class at Rochester’s Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage. She uses a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Therapys. A firm believer that the body responds best to attentive, slow and predictable touch, Jahaira’s massage is focused to the client’s main complaint and relies on their feedback, making the outcome a joint effort. Jahaira has spent years looking for her niche in the healthcare field and has never felt more fulfilled than when she performs massage.

    Joseph is a graduate of Pacific College of Health and Science, where he learned a wide range of different Massage Techniques. Joseph has been a martial artist since childhood, in disciplines including Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts. He fuses evidence-based Western modalities and Sports Massage with hand techniques from Eastern traditions such as Tui Na and Shiatsu for an integrated orthopedic experience. "Every body is unique", that's why Joseph makes customized massage protocols for every client to suit their needs.

    Yevgeniy is a graduate from NYCHP-( New York College of Health professions). This college provided excelent training in Western massage techniques  with an extended program deeply focused in Asian body works such as Shiatsu , Tuina and Thai massage. The knowledge and understanding of both Western and Estern techniques and modalities allow Yevgeniy to create an individual therapeutic session for each of our clients in accordance to their complaints and condition. He does this through manipulations of powerfull energy points and meridians incorporated into Swedish massage to enhance the healing effect on the body.
    Yevgeniy specialized in general relaxation-flow Swedish massage,  Deep tissue massage and Miofascial Trigger point therapy.
    His goal is to provide maximum relaxation, physical and emotional balance to his client by the means of the healing touch meditation and love. He is very passionate and dedicated Massage therapist.

As a therapist, she has a calming touch that she pairs with deeper, therapeutic work that ensures both relaxation and optimal healing in each session. She aims to individualize each massage based on the personal history and goals of the client.     Andrew Thegeby, LMT is a graduate of The Institute for Therapeutic Massage in Haskell, NJ, and is licensed in both New York and New Jersey. He is trained in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial, METs, and shiatsu. Before his work as a massage therapist, Andrew trained as an actor, spending considerable time in movement classes where he developed an interest in body mechanics. This love of kinesiology grew into a passion for bodywork and the health benefits and restorative capabilities it can have in people's lives.

    Andrew grew up in Europe, has roots in Sweden, and loves being a part of the melting pot that is New York City.
