Small Business Spotlight: Tend Greenpoint šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ

Ā This month, we're spotlighting a neighborhood favorite: Tend Greenpoint.Ā Ā

Nestled under a magnificent magnolia tree on Franklin St. sits Tend Greenpoint, a LGBTQ-owned urban garden shop that supplies thousands of homes and businesses with quality plants and gardening supplies. We also love that they locally sourceĀ various products from artists and creators.

If you've never visited Tend, frankly, you're missing out.Ā It was opened in 2018 by local resident Joe Ferrari, an upstate native who became a Greenpoint resident in 2007. (You may have seen himĀ and his garden around the neighborhood!)Ā

After more than a decade of working in New York City, Joe combined his director-level retail and e-commerce experience with hisĀ knowledge attained from the New York Botanic Garden's Adult Education Program to openĀ Tend Greenpoint.Ā

Tend has everything from apartment-ready tropical plants and succulents to outdoor garden supplies and gifts.

Even if you're not a plant lover (is that anyone, truly?), Tend has its own candleĀ  inspired by forests in the Catskills where it's poured. Think notes of petitgrain, fir needle, and pine needle in a plantable terra cotta vessel created by Greenpoint artist Michiko Shimada.Ā

Visit Tend Greenpoint at 253 Franklin St., open daily, or visit www.tendgreenpoint.com to shop online for in-store pickup.Ā
