How To Maintain Work-Wellness Balance

Worklife balance is the term used to describe the balance that a person needs between time allocated for professional work and other aspects of life.

Well, we decided to change the title a bit from work-life balance to “work-wellness balance”. Balancing your wellness, especially living in a metropolitan city life New York is extremely critical. While elevating your career. it’s also important to be equally as conscious of your health.

 

Work-wellness balance means something different to everyone, but here are some tips to help your find what’s right for you!

UNPLUG

Living in a society that is over saturation with digital information, gossip and reality TV, it’s important to unplug! A short detox from the technology is a great way to tap into your inner community and truly spend quality time with yourself and/or your family and friends. Proactively making it a habit to detach from the material world will help you to recharge or recenter. Unplugging can be hiking in nature, reading a book, meditating or going on vacation.

 

EXERCISE

Exercising may seem like an obvious option but dedicating time every week to working up a sweat proves challenging for most busy New Yorkers. Exercise not only helps you stay in shape but it also is a stress reducer. Exercise can be going to the gym, doing yoga or running in the park. Exercise style and duration looks different for everyone, the most important thing is to get started.

 

EVALUATE

We all know that life is roller coaster. On this journey it’s important to evaluate what is working for you, versus what may not be working for you. Being able to pinpoint things you you can improve upon is one of the most difficult steps for many! Taking notes on what you want to accomplish and how you want to feel is extremely important.

 

Over all it’s about listening to your body and taking the time to learn about yourself. Understand what your needs are - start small and build from there. Finding this balance in your life is one of the most important things that will give you fluidity and flow during your journey!
