Why Massages Are Ever So Crucial During The Holiday Season

With our first snow day out of the way and the holiday season is in full swing ... it's important now more so than ever to focus on self care. While you're giving and making other people's holiday wishes come true; exhaustion can kick in without you even realizing it.

While you're out taking care of everyone else, we want to give you some suggestions as to why it wouldn't hurt to treat yourself.

Here are our top 4 reasons to indulge in a massage this holiday season:

STRESS: The holidays are arguably the most stressful time of the year. Between running around, hosting family, cooking, cleaning, sitting in traffic, gifting and/or celebrating with loved ones ... we tend to neglect our self care. Take 60 minutes out of your busy life and tune out your "To Do" list.

COLD WEATHER: Amongst other things, when the temperature drops, our muscles get tight. A massage therapist can warm those muscles right up. Achy backs, tense shoulders and stiff knees especially needs some TLC.

DETOXIFY - During the holidays our eating healthy, working out and resting ratio is usually out of balance. A massage can help jump start the detoxifying process.

IMMUNITY - The cold holiday season is also the time when it's often easier to get sick. A 2010 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that massage boosts patients’ white blood cell count (which plays a large role in defending the body from disease).

Don't think of a massage as a luxury but rather a necessity. This season brings a lot of joy but it can also bring a ton of stress. We hope that you realize how important it is to take care of yourself. For simple peace of mind or getting the kinks out your back ... a massage can handle all of that so you can continue being a super hero to your friends and family!
